PROFESSION SUMMARY
Dr. Celik holds a BSc degree in Mechanical Education Science (2003) and an MSc degree in the same field (2006) from Kocaeli University in Turkey. Additionally, he obtained a second BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering through the Engineering Completion Program at the Faculty of Engineering, Akdeniz University (2022). He completed his PhD degree in 2013 at Akdeniz University's Department of Agricultural Machinery & Technology Engineering, where his research focused on agricultural machinery and equipment design and multidisciplinary engineering analyses.
Dr. Celik embarked on his academic journey as an instructor (teaching fellow) at Kocaeli University in 2005. Following his industry experience in 2006, he joined Akdeniz University as a Research Assistant in 2007. His dedication to academia led to his promotion to Assistant Professor in 2013 and further advancement to the rank of Associate Professor in 2018 and Professor in 2024. In 2021, He undertook the position of Deputy Director at the Institute of Natural and Applied Sciences (Postgraduate Inst.) at Akdeniz University. Additionally, from January 2022 to October 2024, he held a leadership role as the Principal of Kumluca Vocational School at Akdeniz University.
Dr. Celik's research interests predominantly encompass product design, computer-aided design and engineering, multidisciplinary engineering simulations, finite element method/analysis, structural optimisation, materials testing, experimental stress analysis, agricultural machinery/equipment design, reverse engineering and applications of additive manufacturing. Accumulating more than sixteen years of experience in both the machine design-manufacturing industry and academia, he has acquired advanced user certifications related to engineering design and simulation software in his field.
Dr. Celik has actively participated in collaborative research projects supported by scientific and industrial funding bodies in Turkey, as well as the United Kingdom (Lancaster University, The University of Southampton). His extensive research contributions include approximately 100 scientific publications spanning various national and international scientific forums, peer-reviewed journals, congress/conference proceedings, and industrial publications. Furthermore, he has been engaged in research activities as a visiting researcher at Lancaster University and the University of Southampton in the United Kingdom.
Currently, Dr. Celik is actively seeking collaborative research opportunities at a prestigious international university renowned for its contributions to fields aligned with his expertise. He aims to advance his research endeavours and make significant contributions to the development of his specialised field.
